Countryside Montessori School (CMS) is dedicated to the beliefs formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori, the first female Italian physician and founder of a unique philosophy that has gained world-wide recognition as a proved method of education.

WE BELIEVE:

• Each student is to be respected as an individual. Each is different - and develops and learns at his/her own pace.
• The early years are "critical learning times" - It has been proved that a student absorbs at least 50% of his mature intelligence by age four.
• Students in a Montessori school learn how to learn - patterns are established which will produce confident, competent learners for life.
• Students in a certified Montessori program will develop personal characteristics of self-confidence, independence, initiative, sense of order, the ability to concentrate, persistence, increased curiosity and pride in learning.
• All these things will happen when students are given the opportunity to develop at their own pace in a loving and joyful learning environment.
